When using the Apex Import Wizard, you may find that when it comes to assigning Excel columns to fields no columns are displayed. Instead, you just get a little box in the upper left corner of the screen.

This is a problem in the Apex Import Wizard. The workaround is simple -- use Excel to rename the tab name at the bottom of the spreadsheet.

This will be fixed in the next version of Apex.
