The item that my quick code pointed to is now obsolete. How can I change it to a new one?

Answer:
There are three places that quick codes are maintained:

  1. Quick Code Maintenance

  2. P/O Line entry

  3. Material Search (P/O Maintenance)

You can choose one of these three places to change your quick code, depending on which is easiest.

If you know the new 11 digit UPC number you can find the quick code in Quick Code Maintenance and enter the new UPC number.

Alternatively, you can start by finding the new item on the Material Search screen. Right click on it, and select "Add Quick Code". Enter the quick code that you want to use. Apex will warn you that this quick code is already used. Say OK to change the quick code to point to the new item. By searching for items and then right clicking them to assign quick codes you can quickly change a group of quick codes.

Lastly, if the new item is already on a P/O line you can also just right-click the P/O line, select "Add Quick Code", and follow the same procedure outlined above.
