Since the SQL Query recipes work directly with your database they are controlled by an authorization code. The recipes in this forum are for informational purposes only and will not change (or, of course, harm) your Apex data.

Here is the procedure for using a recipe:

  1. Find the recipe that you want in the forum.
  2. Copy the recipe by highlighting it with your mouse and press Ctrl-C to copy it to the clipboard. Copy only the part in between the horizontal lines.
  3. In the Apex program select File / SQL Query from the menu.
  4. In the query window, press Ctrl-V to paste the recipe that you copied to the clipboard. If you would prefer you can type the recipe into this window, but it is essential that it is typed exactly as it appears on the forum.
  5. Delete any spaces before or after the query. In other words, the first and last characters of the recipe should not be blanks.
  6. At the end of the recipe press Enter so that your cursor is at the beginning of the next line. Make sure that there are no characters (including spaces) after this point.
  7. Enter the authorization code and press the Execute button.

That's it! Your results will appear in the results window. There is a button where you can save the results to a text file if desired. You can also save the recipe to a file if you want to use it again later.
